Twas me - thanks very much for my first spotted! (long time reader, first time poster!)

Also good of you to mistake me for anything other than the humble S2 racetech that I am - I must say your Ice Blue number did look well.

You're right about the roof up nonsense, but there's a reason for that - bear with me.

About two months ago, on the Eastbound M8, I was driving my wife's car and was between J16 and J15 when a brainless/ gutless/ motherless/ fatherless, waste of oxygen wee hood decided it would be a good laugh to throw a 2 foot lump of concrete off an overhead pedestrian bridge. This then smashed on the front of my wife's car, obviously scaring the crap out of me. After my first thought of "what is happening to this country", my second thought was:
Question: "what would have happened if I had been in my wee plastic car with the roof down and been a few milliseconds later?".
Answer - either I or my wife might now be pan bread.
Result - it'll be a long time before I drive the M8 with my roof down again.

Again, thanks for my first spotted and remember - watch those bridges!

Scott

I doubt some canvas would help you in those circumstances.

Or Jackson Browne, who actually wrote the damn thing, did a better recording of it, and was virtually ignored.

Nigthtmare about your bridge experience, but one-in-a million chance-I wouldn't let the little ****ers ruin things any further- you can't beat the top off on a good day!

Oh, and :welcome

You're probably right about the canvas not making much difference, Mac, but the wee guy inside my head keeps telling me it might. I'll not be motorway roofless until I get him a new hobby......but still burning my heid everywhere else so no worries. Kevlar soft top anyone...?

An Eagles fan I am, with the pictures of me 'Standin on a corner' last year just to prove how sad I am!

Thanks for the welcome guys - much appreciated.

Did they catch anybody for it? Did they look would probably be a better question!

Don't get me wrong I'm usually a fan of the polis, but their response was "well as long as there's motorway bridges these things will happen" and "unfortunately this is something that is happening more and more often on the M8" .....tell that to my insurance company.

I then decided that wasn't a good enough response, so I wrote to my MP! I must say I was surprised how helpful she was and got me a response from the Chief Inspector of Strathclyde plod. He gassed on about community policing and cameras (couldn't they just fence the pedestrian bridges in, like in the USA???).

Not that I think it'll stop the wee blighters...(make way for the sweeping generalisation) the ned-youth of the country has no respect left for anything.
