That was me out for a blast. Had taken South Deeside out to Ballater with the intention of heading over to the Lecht but the bridge at Gairnshiel lodge is out.

Car is running great thanks!

Duratec conversion is all done.

And a trip to Ricky Gauld sorted the fueling out, I have a healthy 183bhp in 4th with a good wedge of torque. I'm very happy.

The only slight niggle is due to my own carelessness, I've nipped one of the inner CV boots at some point and now have a small leak. It's being replaced next week.

Happy to let anybody have a poke round the car if they are thinking of going the same way.

Funny I read all about your car on pistonheads. Seems you did a great job of the conversion. John and Dave were talking about your car at JD motors last time I was in as well when I mentioned it may be an option in the next year or 2.

Thanks for the comments,

Doing the conversion was great fun and I learned a lot. It is nice to know people enjoy reading the blog, it’s sometimes hard to tell, especially on Pistonheads where you’re thread falls to the bottom and then off the front page within minutes. I’ll be keeping the blog running with further pics, videos, and future mods. Making my own Carbon Fibre engine cover is my next project.

The car will be going to John and Dave to have the CV boot done next week. It’s something I really should do myself but now that the conversion is finished the car is back in my own cramped & powerless lock-up; jobs just seem to take forever once access and lighting are restricted and I'd like to maximise the car’s uptime.

Smee, I can thoroughly recommend the conversion. If you wish to have a look round the car you are more than welcome.

Gregor
