Yep, went out on a days run with a Pistonheads organised gathering, groups from Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen did their own routes and met at Oban for lunch.

However I ended up driving back solo, almost got a suntan, and had one of those drives where the car was in a groove and it was just effortless enjoyment on almost empty roads.

Twelve hours driving with a one hour lunch stop, so a couple of drinks, bacon sarnies, and take the notebook to bed. Verian is at the James Blunt concert in Aberdeen, thank god some of our tastes are different.

That was in the pub for lunch, Avril would not let me in without them. Steer clear of Oban. 10 quid for fish and chips.

Hi Adam

Did not realise that you were ARphoto till Stang told me. Also did not realise that was your girlfriend that I was chatting up at the bar.......said she did not realise how good it felt riding pillion and holding on tight around your waist.

tut

ps Adam was riding a 650 bike de-regulated to 33hp, but running with the white Countach.

haha yeah she likes going pillion and wouldn't trust herself on a bike on her own.

haha so it skipped your mind at the AMP3 event, the guy with camera who takes pictures was me.

The countach was great to play on the roads with, everyone else seemed to not want to overtake.

Sorry Scotty, but having been on one before, did not think it would be your thing due to the pace.

It would have been you and I on our own, except for all the stops for meet ups. Also a couple of cars damaged and an incident with a car in the opposite direction.

Did you not do the applecross meet and it was the same.

I am now a cruzer on road runs, so you would have been able to keep up :thumbsup

No, Applecross was different inasmuch we all met up at the same place, and we could go off in a group of similar pace.

I clued up with two very quick cars on the way there and had a great run, and we then had another good one when we were the first group away from Applecross.

Adam

No names, but on the Aberdeen group, one car ran into the back of another at the single file under the bridge, and the other was a dubious overtaking move that meant an oncoming car taking to the scenery.

Nope, I was doing a Scotty, up at the front, and although I waited and listened to a couple of Sinatra CD's at Killin, I ended up at Oban and was eating lunch when the rest arrived.

Which is why I promise I will let you know when the next one comes up.............
