Standard Lotus Carltons were all dark green, I always thought a black one would look really good. I seem to remember there were a few available in Ice blue as well which was something to do with one in that colour being produced for a television series. Can't for the life of me remember what the series was though. Or how many blue ones were produced but certainly not many.

Yeah they're green- but they look black unless you get really close.
Definitley something that would be in the "I've just won the euromillions" garage.

There used to be a real one in Dundee, I used to pass it on the way to work. Absolutely incredible car and the green is stunning (with it's near-blackness)
The guy replaced it with a Mitsuscooby EQ-somethingorother with edge cleaning ability and no bag.
I remember feeling all disappointed that he'd replaced his Lotus Carlton with a Panasonic Vacuum but each to their own.
From what i've seen, the guy now has one of those new knida retro looing Merc E Class AMG, the 6.2 or so litre job with flared arches and 4 exhaust exists. Really nice loooking car, but it's not a Lotus Carlton!

It was pitch black outside so it could easily have been dark green.
One of the few cars that make me feel humble when I drive past in the S4.

I used to watch Sharman and Chancer starring Clive Owen about fifteen years ago.
Don't remember a Lotus Carlton, but the characters that he played could well have driven one.

There is one for sale in aberdeen right now at gordon reid car sales, surprisingly they are not hugely epensive now - this one is 17K, however i can imagine the running/reliability cost may be pretty steep!!
i would have one for sure in the lotto garage!! I remember reading an article in evo i think it was - a fair while ago now, that it was faster than the new M5 (E39 at the time) round whatever test track they were on, thats immense!!!

stunning!

My friends dad had one in Carnoustie when it first came out (many moons ago now), as it was a company car it was fully insured for my mate who was 18 at the time, happy days

Reliability wise they are ok as long as they haven't been chipped.
Parts however are pretty expensive but biggest problem is availability.
Any excuse for a pic.
