Back to the Future

Post by duggiesmith » Sun Oct 31, 2010 10:38 am

Was coming home from lunch yesterday (at 1:00am this morning  ) and was passed by a DeLorean at Greenbank.
Never seen one on the road before. 'Twas rather 8)
Took me right back to the eighties.

The original DeLorean design was apparently so crap they had to call in Lotus to extensively re-engineer the thing before production. The build quailty was still supposed to be shockingly bad, but at least there is a whiff of Hethel in the chassis. DeLorean also has the distinction of being the only car company headed up by a convicted fraudster :)

Stainless does stain doesnt it?
Theres one lives just five houses up from me (which admitadly is around 5 miles away) and has sat outside all summer for me to view as I pass, lovely car IMHO. I had a run in it as a wee boy and was fascinated by the interior light, it came as a map reader on one of those flexible bendy eighties lamp thingies, just great :D

Didn't some of the Lotus people get convicted and the company owner escaped?
