Copied from PistonHeads - but I just had to find out so I joined!

I was coming back from Scourie (North West Scotland, coast) to Aberdeenshire last Sunday (19th) and happend to notice a Red lotus Exige in my mirrors making rapid progress through the traffic behind. I was shifting a bit too so managed to hold him off until Ullapool where sadly he pulled in for petrol.
Much later in the upper reaches of Strathdon I hooked up with either an identical motor or the same chap heading in my direction.
We had a great drive and I pushed my chipped 3.0 TDi A6 Quattro to the ragged edge before letting him pass with a nice wave - pleasantly returned
He turned left at Mossat for Huntly and I headed right for Alford.
If it was you - thanks for a great drive!! Did you expect and A6 to keep up or were you taking it easy! lol.
Red Exige - Sunday 19th Ullapool - Strathdon, was it you?

Hi Bill,
Yes that was me, we'd been up camping at Auchmelvich with the SE contingent. It was a great weekend finished off with a swift run home, really enjoyed the run down to Ullapool behind you and was amazed when we caught up with you again at Strathdon. If it wasn't for you're distictive plate I would have guessed it was another A6.
And yes we're were both amazed at the rapid proress you were making, thanks for making the run back that bit more exciting.
Cheers

I think you must have passed me when I was refueling in Inverness and then I caught you up when you were pit-stopping in Strathdon.
I was all for pushing a bit more but the dog was looking a bit green on the back seat - We'd been fishing the past week!

...
Were we both on a "one stop" strategy or where you making 2
If it weren't for the high price of fuel in Scourie it would have been a "no" stopper for the A6!
