Oh this thought has crossed my mind...actually chapping the house door and making enquiries. But what would be a realistic value, and what would need doing to recommission?

Lots I reckon, all fluids, brake overhaul, could be a wee minefield...

I'm Dundee born and bred. Was thinking closer to half that.

You better hope the owner is not Dundee born and bred then if you offer them that ;)

Being Dundee born and bred, I'd ensure I was more than an arm's length away prior to making such an offer :D

It all depends on what it needs, if it has been under a cover for the last few years theres a good chance the paIntwork is shot with micro blisters.

Anywhwre from 6 k upward i'd say.

Go knock the door, you dont ask you'll never know!
If you need to go even faster, just imagine you are me.

All based on it's not been touched in these years...it'd need a fresh battery to start, so big risk.

I'd not pay 6k for such a risk.

If its a bona fide S160 I think it IS worth a £6k risk.

Chap the door.

Indeed, i paid 6k for mine, spent 4k on it, i reckon its worth a minimum of 15k now. 40k, 3 owners, it was just a bit unloved, needed paint from micro blisters and suspension refresh.

If you doNt want to knock the door, pass the address on, ill happily go and ask!

You really must. It's the new purpose of SE. Sort of like an old dog rescue home.
