I had to google the colour. Don't think I have ever seen one in real life :blackeye

It's my old car ordered at murrays and it is brown hence I sold it colour was picked by Motorsport at hethel and I hated it from day 1 sorry being honest.

Mark - I always thought you hated the car after the pumping you must have taken from wee Graeme when you traded in in after 10 months of ownership. Still, it really is the only one in that colour now as its twin (a Sport 190) was crashed on track and repainted in Storm Titanium. Strangely, there is actually no brown in the paint – Bronze, Burnt Orange and Burgundy from memory.

I'm curious as to what warranted Lotus Sport carrying out a comprehensive build photo log- it was just a standard S2 111s, all the changes to LS111 spec have been made under my ownership (OZ Wheels, Motorsport seats and Suspension)

For info I lost nothing on car as it was an insurance replacement for a written off flip paint one I bought at Scottish motor show stand so not pumped by graham, luckily bought an s1 with the money and have since lost nothing on it unlike s2 values, the build book was done by Marie at Motorsport for my wife as nice gesture, so curiosity solved, I remember roger stating to graham " it's allegro brown on a dull day" hence I sold it. Just for info I was told paint job cost about 2k ish

Bad form to quote myself... but I think reading the other posts, I think I did see that very car in Tesco's carpark on the Kingsway in Dundee about 6 years ago at a meeting point for an SE run. (Ross, you were there also cause we chatted before Wendy and I headed off to see the Black F355 at Autoecosse) Obviously a memorable colour :thumbsup

Your memory's better than mine then Jim as I don't recall that other than you telling me you were going to see that F355, which from memory was rough? :?

Begs the question,.. why on earth did you buy it in the first place? :scratch

I like the way John keeps it, with the dark wheels etc. Looks impressive in the sun, all gold and purple 8)

Well as long as the 'man maths' works out for you Mark then that's the main thing :thumbsup

I looked at that motorshow car at the time (2004?? - blue / green flip from memory) but bought a Storm Titanium S2 111s instead. When my warranty was up I traded it in for your replacement one which was less than 2/3rds the price of the motorshow car a year or so later so I'm glad I held off. Its been a good wee car most of the time, we have been all over the continent in it. Sadly it has not been used much the last couple of years - I made the mistake of buying a big and comfortable family car which happens to be quicker than the Lotus in a straight line so the wee car has only been used a handful of times. There is a blue / green flip S2 111s in Glasgow with a gull-wing roof - is that your motorshow car or did you total it?

Think the paint was a £4k option according to the paperwork with the sale. AutoGlass damaged the passenger door when fitting a new window a few years ago - Lotus sourced a further 2 litres of paint for me from Dupont in the States. That cost AutoGlass well over £2k when you added on the special undercoat and clear coat
