Re: S1 x2 Callander
They were stuck behind a slow moving ambulance with blues on heading to Port of Menteith. Despite the wind it wasn't too bad a day for it, maybe a tad slippy in places, hope they survived intact.
Re: S1 x2 Callander
Was indeed Murray and I. Managed taps aff all day, even if we did get a little rained on near Killin - were able to keep the pace up so did not get wet.
Re: S1 x2 Callander
We were wondering what the etiquette is about overtaking an emergency vehicle with blues on. Were not behind it for too long as we headed south at Port of Menteith
Re: S1 x2 Callander
Overtaken ambulances on dual carriageways/motorways before - they only seem to manage around an indicated 70...

Re: S1 x2 Callander
Legal to overtake with the blues on, unless you're blocked by police escort or otherwise instructed not to. Obviously, needs to be done within the usual rules of the roads.
However, consider that they might get a proper shift on suddenly if the patient's conditions deteriorates, and you're then in front and in the way. Dual/m-way... probably ok. Single carriage way? Maybe best to hang back and chill. Common sense I guess.

Pretty much my conclusion... also thought if it was on my loved ones in the back of it I would not be too impressed by loud sports cars overtaking.graeme wrote:Legal to overtake with the blues on, unless you're blocked by police escort or otherwise instructed not to.
