Ooof......My number plate

Just spotted this. Only 8mnths late.

Realise now it was yourself that pulled up beside me on the queue for the clyde tunnel and what you were shouting out the window. !!!!

I assume by now you no longer have the plinth ?? Long shot but if you do, can you reply and ill come pick it up

That "puddle" was a belter. Pitch black. Full width of the road Saw it and though.. that will be ok to go through slowly

Was it .....

When water started pishing in under the seats, i beat a hasty retreat. Probably where i ripped the plinth off. It was certainly where the front arch liners were pushed up under the arches with the force

I went back the next day to look for the plinth/plate but the water was so deep i gave up.

Could have a happy ending - great tale!

Waded a ford in early days of Elise ownership. Big mistake. Car smelled like a swamp for months

Only ever lost the front plate on speed bumps or dips in the road though!

Fingers crossed you get it back.

I had a spare but sold it after my S1 was written off. They are probably hen’s teeth now!

Big thanks to Jonathan for being geeky enough to identify an S1 number plate plinth floating in a very large puddle. The foolishness to go fishing for it and the compulsive Lotus hoarding disorder to keep it in his garage for nearly a year.......all that for a bottle of plonk :)

If nothing, the spare number plate will come in handy, as I managed to lose 3 last winter

Give me wave if you see me out and about

thanks again
Danny

On the old Houston Rd. Near Woodland Nursery
2/3 along road from Kirk Rd to the new Houston Rd (B370)
6ft stone walls either side.
Thinking of going deep sea diving ??

No worries - glad we managed to join the dots and get it back to you.

If it had been in better nick I’d have ebay’d it months ago but the wine will do nicely
