Not sure if this is the same as this:

My colleague said it was M8, but perhaps got mixed up with his motorways? Or have there been two separate incidents in one day??

yeah i saw your post but this elise wasn't on it's side although it's possible that your mate got the motorway wrong. actually the damage really didn't look too bad guess the driver got more of a fright than anything else!

also spotted on by someone on trs.
Coming to work this morning and travelling along the M74 Northbound. Road much busier than usual particularly trying to get onto M73 (AND those B%%#$ jumping from M74 onto M73) but find what the problem is: Rubber neckers!

So what are they looking at? A Lotus Elise which looks as if he has lost ot on the M73 offramp onto the Southbound M74 which is now on the grass verge pointing the opposite diection and with some damage Opps-a-daisy
Bit more details, looks like they are def ok atleast! :thumbsup
Got to say it didn't look to serious - more prob lost the back end, had a spin and ended up looking a bit silly! There seemed to be some damage to the front lip (lost its reg. plate etc) but not too much and certainly didnt seem to hit anyone! The driver appeared to standing by the car and ok.

It also seemed to be a facelift model? I only caught a quick glimpse as I drove by (no rubbernecking!!!)

well at least the driver is ok

if he'd spun out as he hit the motorway he did pretty well not to have hit anyone, especially at that time in the morning, given that it's normally very busy and full of drivers who are still half asleep.

Saw this myself, must have past shortly after it happened. I noticed a lot of standing water running across the 3 lanes just before where he finished up so maybe hit that and aquaplaned. Funny thing was there was a mx5 at the same spot the day before with a fair bit more damage, obviously hit something. Same again standing water across the lanes.

Came back the opposite way about 40 mins later and the car had been abandoned, i thought they would have driven it away as the damage looked minimal, certainly looked drivabable.
