There's getting to be a lot of us snappers on here!!

Cars not my main subject as many on here already know..... http://www.andybarr.com

Oh, and my vote for those looking for a first d-slr is the Canon 450D - amazing for the money!!!!

Nikon users will be along shortly to correct me!

Really superb work on your site :)

Cheers.

(P.S. I'd go with the Canon 400D / 450D over the Nikon D40(x) / D60 as well :)....wouldn't say no to a D3 though :D)

Other than certificate in a schools photography module from my 6th year, no :-)

But I have been snapping with a 35mm SLR since I was 16, I used to advise on and sell them back in the day when Boots had a proper Camera Counter, and my Dad's bee a pro landscape snapper since around 1991 so I get a lot of tips and inspiration from him.

I don't get a lot of time to invest in it just now though, so my level of skill is moderate at best but since picking up my Sony A-100 last year I have been trying hard. Bulk of my work is family stuff these days from holidays etc some of which is shot on my wee Sony DSC-P9 compact.

I do get very inspired by some of the work I see on here (and by others who don't publish as much on here but still have plenty smart stuff on their own sites, like Fergus).

Not in photography; self taught while I was at University.

Once I graduated I started trying to sell pictures to local newspapers and ended
up with a job with a weekly paper in Galloway. There I snapped a young David
Coulthard when he won a karting trophy at 14! Was surprised a few years later
when photographing him at the Williams HQ that he remembered me.

Learnt the business there over a couple of years before getting a break to work
for the nationals and been there ever since.

Got many friends and colleagues that did the Napier degree course and the Building
and Printing course in Glasgow.

Are you looking to study??

Hi Adam

I was at Kames today, mrahead and myself - first time there for me but I really enjoyed it! I am an amateur photographer and look forward to meeting up and getting tips on photography from yourself! Just done my first wedding last week so by the time KH came round I was all clicked out! Seriously, I really really enjoy taking photos and as long as the guys are ok with this I will happily click away at any of the track days. Look under "Trackdays" on the forum here then Kames - 15th June - have posted some from today. I'm happy just to post my work and get constructive criticism from anyone so don't hold back on what you think - that's how I learn!

I am also happy to take photos of your cars at any time - so just nab me anytime I am around at any of the tracks and I'll happily take piccies of your cars, not a problem. Will post any I get with owners permission on the forum.

Just to give you a bit of my photography history - I enjoy taking pics of celebrities - I have over 80 stunning images of Kylie from around 12 feet taken in the front row of her concert around 4 years ago along with many other images of Westlife and loads of other celebs. SECC is a wonderful place!

I also enjoy taking close up shots and got some cracking shots at KH with the Touring Cars a couple of years back too.

Adam - was it you that was there today at Kames? Meant to speak to you but never got round to it.

I use a Nikon D50 6 million pixels with just the standard lens that came with it so am at early stages and am contemplating doing the on line Open Uni course starting in October but hey! we'll see - one step at a time. Also have a small Olympus Camera that has 6 million pixels too which is pocket size and can be handy.

Will dig out some photos and post them for you to see.

Great forum - we're also members of Club Lotus so probably see a lot of you all around........

Janet
