Afternoon all. Just looking for a bit of guidance really...
I'm thinking about selling my mk.5 Golf R32 (taking a bit depreciation hit in the process) and gettting two older, cheaper, higher mileage cars - a Golf GTI and an Elise S1.
The problem is, there's a limited number of cheap S1's around and I was wondering if anyone knows a place that rents them out in the Aberdeen area. I've never actually driven one, only know them by reputation.
What I do know is, as good as the R32 is, I never just want to go for a drive anymore. It does everything well but it's not fun.
Any advice would be appreciated, or any thoughts on the merits of making such a move.
Cheers.

I've got an S1 that i use for the track, and its a genuis wee car. I've had a range of things, from Golf GTi vr6,111r, S1, 430 to Atom, and the Elise still manages to entertain greatly. On track they are the ideal car to thrash about as they can take it literally all day - last visit to Cadwell saw me to 268 track miles in a day
Sounds like a good plan - and get on track, and the R32 will most definately be a thing of the past

Hi Lex, welcome to Scottish_Elises. There are quite a few S1 owners in the Aberdeen area and they would happily take you out to see what you think.
I live in Old Deer, but not much point in you trying a S/C Honda car if you are looking at a standard S1. There is an SIDC trackday this Saturday at KH from 0900-1300, so there will be quite a few of us there.

We have an S1 and would take you out for a blast, but like Tut's it's not standard. It has the Honda K20 in it and isn't on the road at the mo (being painted). But once it's back up and running if you're still looking, you're
more than welcome to come round for a lookie and Alan can take you out for a pax run? Where about in Abz are you?

PS-car shouldn't be long back from painters now!! Week or two at most!! Yay!!
