OK, spend £12k of that and put the other £3k in an instant-access account as a Maintenance and Track Day fund. I'm not actually joking!

However with 15 to spend you probably have some really good options.

If your looking for a toyota engined model then absolute minimum for any model would be £14K unless you start considering cat D or 80,000 milers which doesn't sound like what you are after.
Much more do-able for £12k upwards is almost any of the various Rover engined S2 models, the later 2004 or 2005 rover engined 111s are advertised around £13 k- £15k so getting towards your current budget top.

Looking at Pistonheads classified is a very useful learning guide to what is available, prices and the filtering is good to narrow your search.

And of course as per my footer my toyota engined one is still for sale after a failed sale at just over £15K :)
If you are near Lanarkhsire area i would be happy to show you both the rover and toyota models i currently have at the moment.

Originally bought an S2 Exige 190, sold that earlier in the year.
After being in a few different Elise variants at knockhill decided to replace it with an S1 Elise Honda
