As mentioned that is a Toyota engined S model not a Rover vvc engined 111s.
If you are looking at that price range your choice of S2 Elise are Rover 111s or the Toyota engined 111R or S models.
Cheaper will be the standard rover engined S2, dearer will be the supercharged SC model or the later 111r renamed as the R.

These 2 sites provide a bit more info about the various Elise models if you still aren't sure.

I think I let my heart rule and did the bad thing. Deposit is down and whether I like it or not the 134S? is the new edition.
I really hope I'm not disappointed. She just looked so nice.

I still don't understand the models. 111, r, s, etc. Sorry, I will in time. Does anybody have any idea of what car I have bought?
Will I be the guy with the crappy model when we go out for a jolly?
Please be honest I spent many years on oil rigs and have a reasonably thick skin.

Ah, was this Mr Howie? He's quite friendly with my gf, they went to school together.
If your ever in Dunning pop into the Kirkstyle Inn, Anita works there, the car was really for her, well, sort of.

I'll buy you a pint, although, this morning the thought of alcohol isn't a good one!!

One of the chaps in the village bought a Boxster S, around six months ago, it's a beauty, black and tan with upgrade wheels/exhaust, its been lightly breathed on. He's a big car fan, line up includes RR classic 3.9, TR6 in paris blue, Dempsy and Makepeace Escort amoung others.

I think you have bought an S - which (was at the time) the entry level to the R which had about 190bhp.

The model strategy then changed and S tends to be the high end model.

The base model Elise is nothing to be ashamed of and is still a hoot to drive and its lower bhp belies the fun you can have and the handling and road holding elevate them above many other high powered machines.
Until you get used to it watch for wet/ damp conditions as they can bite at what seems like low speed if you take liberties

I'll 2nd that"can bite if you take liberties at what seems like a low speed". Looks like you'll have the only Elise in the village(must be a Little Britain joke in there somewhere) for the meantime, can't see my carnage being repaired.
Never mind it was nearly winter anyway and I'll enjoy looking for replacement
Catch up with you sometime, don't do the pubs much anymore, and hear what you think of your Lotus
Jim

Banter's good on here but be kind to OAP's & Porsche owners :D
Was expecting more abuse for binning what was a lovely car,but you're all being very "kind"......I'm not that special!!

Probably because you are way down the list on binning an Elise(s) Jim.

We have experts on here. :D

Yeah, Colin at Burnbrae told me about the bump Jim.
Was unfortunate... It looked absolutely stunning.

If you want to have a bit of fun again feel free to play with mine. Although it will be much slower than yours. Maybe a good thing!!

I saw your Porsche today at Tesco car park.
My misses seems to think you are friends with our friends Ali and Graham Ross?
Graham and Colin are racing at Knockhill on Wednesday evening, think I'll go up and cheer them on

It's gonna be Thursday at the earliest before I can collect the Elise, the Delta won't be ready for a few months so unfortunately won't have anything worthy of driving.
Still, will be fun to watch from the side lines :)

Didn't realise it was an open track night......

Thanks for the kind offer Grant re your Elise, but not overly keen on driving others' cars although I don't mind dishing the keys out occasionally, sorry you're not going to get a run in my 111R this weekend Steve :(
Small world over here in Dunning, everybody knows everybody.......sometimes I'm thinking DELIVERANCE!!! :damnfunny
Thankfully I'll always be an "incomer"...........cue locals with pitchforks and burning torches :D

I know what you mean Jim, I think you have have to be born here, and your family need to go back to the days of Maggie Walls. I spend most of my time out of the country working around eastern Europe so coming here is like a holiday, the roads are brilliant and it's not Auchterarder.
I lived there when I first moved up from Wales at the difficult age of 16, that really was hard. Every weekend someone wanted to punch me in the nose.

Today we did the flower show then we hit the Duck race. Village life!! it's intense. The Lancia will be back soonish so if your up for that one please take her out. It's a nice experience. Did you used to have a Trevor?
