Would be Elise owner

Post by type28 » Tue Sep 24, 2013 3:12 pm

Hi

I live in the Edinburgh area and wonder if anyone knows some were local I can hire an Elise?.

I have a Mk1 Lotus Cotina and am doing a Thames 400e Lotus service van at the moment, but have a hankering for a type 23 Elise- love the colour scheme :D .

Idealy I would like to try one for a couple of days.

Cheers

Not sure if they's be able to help, but may be worth a call to Brandon or Craig at Murrays Lotus.

Thanks for the welcome

My only experience in an Elise was as a passenger being taken around Castle Donnington race track a few ago during the Lotus Festival weekend.
A couple of weeks ago I was at Brands Hatch for the Lotus Festival and the Elise once again caught my attention.
My wife says I have too many cars and this is the start of my mid-life crisis :D

Love the Lotus Cortina picture, the way the heat haze is captured under the car etc. - great picture.

I 'll post up some pictures if I track down a Type 23

Cheers

I'm in Edinburgh. You're welcome to have a look round and ask questions. I found this immensely helpful when I was looking so happy to pay forward. :-)

SIDC track day on the 5th. Plenty of opportunity then!

You could try the above for an s1 and/or pop out to Murray's and ask for a test drive in a newer car.

Interesting, the Elise hire is not much less than their 500hp, 205mph Mercedes AMG S55L with every upgrade on the list.
