East Coast Noob

Post by Colin L » Sat Oct 21, 2006 8:37 pm

Hi All,
Deep Purple S1 bought 6 weeks ago. Had it down at Murray Motors today as it seems Lotus are still honouring the footwell corrosion recall.
Popped into the showroom to slaver over the newer stuff and the guy (Graeme) recommended this site when I mentioned looking for some driver training / sideways action.

I've just come over from the other (2wheeled) side and was looking for a Westfield / seven type car when the Elise came up via a workmates brother. Im sooo glad it did and am having some serious fun even with the roads turning slimy.

Anyways, just thought I'd say hello...

Graeme definitely pointed you in the right direction . . . all these guys on here have been really helpful since I joined the forum a couple of months ago. They're a great bunch! :thumbsup

Probably a bit short notice, but there's a run tomorrow. Check out the "sweeping the leaves" post in the meets section.

Really good bunch of guys (and girls) here mate. :D

how bad is/ was your footwell?
I've just bought one with very slight corrosion and was going to look into how to get it fixed over the next month or so.

Aye aye folks,
Thanks for the welcome. There are a few bits’n’bobs needing attention on the car so I may be along to ask for some advice in the coming months. The floor corrosion was relatively bad which I find a bit concerning as the previous owners hadn’t had it repaired. MMC rated the corrosion as borderline between the level 1 and level 2 repairs but proposed level 2 which Lotus agreed to. The car’s now with them for the week which is shame considering the weather yesterday - hope y’all had a good run.

Has anyone has issues with the paint bubbling behind the rear grills at the reverse / fog lamps? Mine seems particularly bad and I assume it must be heat that it causing it, just wondered if it’s a common issue?

Cheers,
Colin
