Howdy

Post by Stephen » Thu Apr 28, 2005 9:51 pm

Hi guys,
Just joined tonight although I have been a member of the yahoo group for a few weeks now.
Drive an Azure Blue S1 and have been fortunate enough to go for a run with Simon and Lee last Sunday. A good wee blast overthe Dukes pass.

:welcome
Fitted the pads tonight, well Lee did most of it for me actually :p
Would be able to do it myself no probs in the future, seemed easy enough.
Pedal now feels a lot firmer and the brakes felt immediately better. Just need to give them a few hundred miles to bed in.

Si, i fitted the EBC green stuff pads to my car the other day. Done the Shug procedure of bedding in that he posted on the Yahoo argument, sorry, group. 5 stops from 100 to 10 mph then complete cool down. Worked a treat, changed the fluid too, brakes are sh!t hot. I'm booked for Hot Marques on monday and Dreadnought on tueesday so i'm sure that'll be as good a test as any. :)

I understood you were to let them bed in for a couple hundred miles first then do the 5 stops thing :?
Is that correct or should I just hammer them?

I gave it about 20 miles of normal driving, then hammered them. The stuff on the pad is used to help bed in the pad and also cleans up the disk a bit for the new pad surface to run on. At work if we fit pads, you cant put the car out to the punter with a crap padal, so you hammer the brakes in on road test. Never ever had any probs doing it this way.
