Welcome Gary,

I did a very similar thing at 29 and bought my first Lotus not long after passing my driving test - however I also had the use of my parents 1.2 litre, 3 cylinder Vauxhall Corsa which I've since bought from them to use as a daily driver. Congratulations on the new car - not to put a dampener on it (it looks fantastic by the way) but I'd seriously consider getting a wee run around to see you through your first winter behind the wheel. No matter how careful you are, the Lotus WILL catch you out at some point. It would just be a real shame to start your driving career with an expensive bump that could put you off. If you pass soon then hopefully you get the best of the summer out of it, please tell me you are using your Driving Instructors car and not the Elise to sit your test. Can't see that going down well with the examiner.

All the best and Good Luck

John
