I use my S1 as my day to day car as my clio isn't very reliable :D no problems it's easy to live with day to day, although the vauxhalls are a bit more plush.

blag a shot/pax of as many different types as possible and see what you think

Well if it needs to be a passable road car too you should at least get something that will beat the MX-5 on the hill, otherwise you may as well just get another MX-5 ;-)

The better half will live with an S2 much more comfortably than an S1 (but neither are comfortable compared to MX-5 - no sound proofing, lots of road/wind noise, etc.).

Niz is right - try and get a run in as many different types as you can before deciding what to do, though clearly if the budget won't stretch to an S2 Exige SC260 then not a lot of point worrying about how quick/comfortable they are ;-)

If you happen to be able to make KH at any time you would be more than welcome in my car and no doubt there will be others who'll be happy to take you out for a couple of laps.

Cheers,
Robin

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately, I'm on holiday at moment (a rare trip away with the family).

I like the sound of a supercharged VX. :thumbsup Something a bit different.

But then again, the S1 is a better starting package.

Time will tell. I'm off to Kames in my MX-5 next weekend. :D

Thanks again for all the welcomes.

Special thanks to Lazydonkey for taking the time today to show me his car, talking about the ups and downs of ownership and convincing me that I really should get one. It's really good that there's folk who are passionate about their cars and will take time out to do that sort of thing.

So, I've done the deal and will soon be the owner of a VX n/a - picking it up next week. :D Please be gentle........

Anyone want to buy a nicely prepared MX-5 (one careful owner..... and me). :D
