Although i'm sure Mckean at Spa will have been trying to re-correct the balance single-handed

Re: Hello :)

Hi Jordan,
I have owned my car a year now and was in a similar position. I sold up what I had an went looking, ending up travelling a fair old way to find the one I bought so don't restrict your search to local and enlist a friend with promises of beer to drive you where you need to go.
I also use my car every day. I would say that if you buy an S1, you have to be willing to weild a spanner as stuff breaks, regularly lol. It's all part of the ownership experience and theres a great web of support and advice round here to help you out if you have questions etc. In that past year I've replaced and repaired many parts of my car, and theres still more to go, current issues that need sorted, bit's waiting to go on to fix this and that. But underneath, if you're nice to it, the car is amazingly reliable and such a rewarding drive. The benefit us chaps who drive one everyday have is simply, we get to drive one every day. Love it.
Good luck in your search.

Re: Hello :)
I think it's worth pointing out that my Elise hasn't been able to move out of the drive since the snow started. So using everyday does have limitations.

Re: Hello :)

Good luck with finding the perfect car for you.
Don't rule out the vx220 unless you are dead set on an S1. The vx is cheaper for a newer car, rarer, 1 insurance group lower, and still probably more than 90% the car that an s1 is, especially when fitted with Exige suspension and well set up. Also, some added reliability etc. Some great bargains to be had, and might be a good stepping stone into Lotus ownership.
All that said, I love my S1
