What are your prices for standard Elise/Exige services? Just asking the question so you can't be acused of blatent advertising :) . I am sure I am not the only one here who thinks main dealer servicing prices (and often quality) are a bad joke.

Standard rates are as follows:

A Service - £140
B Service - £230
C Service - £450 (+40 for VVC cars)

Brake fluid change - £30

Geo:

Check - £50
Full setup - £100
Corner weighting - £50

All prices include VAT

Service prices above are for K series engined cars but Toyota engined cars are also catered for at similar sensible prices. eg. 9k service - £140, 27k Service - £180

Hi Andy,

Yeah, done quite a bit of work on the Yota engined cars. Fitted some Piper 285 cams to an S2 Exige last month (work well BTW) and I had a chat with Dave Walker about getting the Emerald to run the Yota lump soon.

p.s. What's the crack with your engine mate?

Oh and one last thing, can't do warranty work yet but I'm trying to sort this out. Can certainly service cars from new without it affecting your Lotus warranty though.

Bottom end went - still waiting for the dealer etc to get it sorted, as there is quite a bit of "discussion" going on at present!

Certainly won't be going ot them for future services though

Think I may well be heading to Newcastle for my next service.

Andy, do they know what caused your engine to go pop? Just wondering if it was the oil starvation issue on left hand (or is it right hand??) bends which I have heard about. Assume you will get a new engine under warranty?

Hi Mark

not sure, as that would involve MMC having a clue what happened.

Car was 6 weeks outside warranty when i went in for my first engine warning issue. A further 6 visits and then things went pop!

Lotus have yet to agree to provide the engine and are wanting to charge me for it, although they have subsidised it. 8 weeks ago i might have been up for that. MMC have offered to fit it for free.

Still, would like to know what else i could have reasonably done to prevent this from happening, as it went pop within 50 miles off picking it up from MMC
:(

Will post the full version of this when its resolved. But fair to say the summer will be finished by the time the R is back on the road and this mess is sorted out.

Wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't a brand new set of A08's just fitted to it before this began

Me too - MMC have been getting away with stupid prices and sometimes questionable service for way too long.

Happy birthday!

I've been down to Jude Performance twice now - 'B' Service and then timing belt, taking into account the petrol and shopping I reckon i've still save over £400 or £500!

It's not a bad drive either!

Nope, a quick search will bring up a plethora or better options including ATS and Kwik-Fit.... (joke, or is it?)
Seriously though have a search and there are several, but not for Warranty work, with that you are truly stuffed...

Here is a selection, mostly depends on what you need doing, if it's just servicing there are loads of options, if it's repairs or mods there are quite a few talented locals on here who will gladly help out (As long as it's not getting a BMW straight six and manual box out of an elderly donor...I'm still bleeding!)
