Drove your car today Ross, new owner asked me to check it out as he was not sure what the brakes were doing regarding the ABS. Have not driven an Elise/VX with ABS, but was down at the bottom of the Lecht so took it through the speed range up to 100 tuts and it felt fine, though I do not like the feeling when it engages and pumps through your foot, I can do better with cadence braking. He has only had it for three days so is not used to it yet.

Lovely car and a giveaway at that price, she went like a rocket and with the VX engine has as much torque as my new car. I am not a car snob, the VX is an Elise in different clothing, and I would be kicking myself if I was on the lookout for a new car and missed that. Any showroom Elise could not match it, and it would take an Exige 260 to equal the power.

Thank for testing...I had a great run home. I am still not 100% convinced there is not an intermittent issue. The ABS sensor clearly is a weak point but the light does come on now and again...

Thanks for kind words, I am extremely happy with it and a credit to previous owners. (Esp ross)

Does it come on and shudder under your foot? Does the car have 16/17 inch wheel setup? If so.... TADTS.

Cut the yellow wire under the bonnet and put in a switch to enable you to switch it off. Otherwise, get one of the 4 channel jobs and that sorts it as well, but they are quite pricey.

Thanks a lot, as tut says that's exactly it and that is the setup.
I've even learned a new acronym...
So I need to cut a wire and add a switch? Off to hunt the vx forum see if anyone else has done it

Everyone has done it. I just put a bullet connector on it and disconnected it when driving spirited.

As Bob said just fit a bullet connector. Mine had been disconnected for the last 3 years until I recently went back to 17 inch wheels front and back. Even had it connected at Knockhill last week and it was fine. Just remember to only disconnect/reconnect the connection with the ignition off or the ABS light will stay on until reset by a opcom tool. The ABS dash light will stay on until you reconnect the wire then should extinguish. Ideal for MOT time.
