:welcome mate
IMHO , you're better off with an S1 if its an occasional drive. S2 if its a daily drive (biased i know).
you seem to be quite handy around cars so the S1 it is

Anyway, that would have been the one you fell in love with originally! :thumbsup

As Ross says S2 for daily driver , S1 for occasional use.

Having owned both -S1 can be hard to live with in the middle of winter if your commuting in it.
S2 better allrounder.

I stay in Strathaven so will look out for you in the bug. Keith

Nice one a good positive response from all (so far  )

Cheers everyone!

Ill probably getting be getting rid of the red 70s bug before i buy anything else, the '67 will be for very occaisional use only, as im going quite high compression and the cam (yes thats 'cam' - not plural :P ) is quite wild.

Nice to see some VDubbers here too :D

I dont use the GTO very much, its a lump of a car. Dont get me wrong it grips really well and rips your face off, but its a total pig, 2 tons! Seriously though! Did no one at Mitsubishi think, hmm i wonder if i make it LIGHT it would be faster!
Because its an MR its got no 4ws(still 4wd), no abs, no active aero, no electronic suspension (is adjustable though), stock version is about 2.5T!

If i bought an Elise / Exige it would be my daily driver.
Ideally id love something that would at least keep up with the GTO at least up to 130 :D that thing is still pulling like a train at 165 (4500-4800rpm in 6th boost comes in at 2500)

I drive around everywhere for my work. In Stewarton a fair bit now at J&F. Mostly central belt, some offshore and some overseas.
Just met Nizzy the other day and got chatting about his Elise seemed like a good guy so in short: kinda :D

Cheers for the offers of shots in your motors, ill take the passenger seat :D Ive never been in one thats being driven so obviously i have no idea how the cars handle. Dont hate me cause im a wimp
