It's gone mighty quiet in here.
Seems like a friendly bunch and I don't want to come here and start a slaggin match with anyone - I just asked if all elise's were that slow.
From the responses it looks like that not the case.
I'm not the one who brought into question driving abillities - you want to break the speed limit then why not other sections of the highway code???
I'd like one of those exige's one day so don't want to make myself as an outcast.
I was told that we should do out driving on the track and when I offered your man isn't available. I draw no conclusions from that.
I ask what kind of lap time he does round Kh - I'm there quite regularly myself, and I get no response - again I draw no conclusions.
I do take offence at being called a troll - It's pretty obvious this did take place.

In Internet terminology, a troll is someone who comes into an established community such as an online discussion forum, and posts inflammatory, rude, repetitive or offensive messages designed intentionally to annoy or antagonize the existing members or disrupt the flow of discussion, including the personal attack of calling others trolls
Nothing antagonistic in your first post then?
Whats the spec of this 1.2 Pug, I'm curious

I didn't think so - I came on here quite pleasantly - had heard good things about the elise folk north of the border so wasn't expecting this kind of behaviour.kenny wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll

Fine - you want to condone your driver who thinks it's acceptable to turn an overtaking move into a drag race and post strange images then fine.
Perhaps you should advertise your website address on your windscreens if you don't want folk to join in.
As for the pug - it's a got a green airfilter and a superchip.
Yawn. I'm with Greg on this. The rest of you should know better.
Most of us probably think we're pretty tidy drivers in pretty tidy cars, however, up against a sorted wee motor, and by all accounts the 106 is a tidy wee machine, with someone that knows how to handle it on a road that they know well most of us could get caught. I know that I'm boring and will keep a steady pace most of the time so anyone that wants to will catch me without breaking sweat regardless of what they're driving.
I now I'd probably get pretty pissed with myself if something like this did happen to me but I know that my abilities as a driver are greater in my head than they are in reality. I drive my Elise because I get a great deal of pleasure from it, not because it's quicker than a 1.2litre 106 on any road you care to mention. I enjoy the social side of it as well. This has the potential to develop into the type of shyte we take pleasure in deriding SELC*CK for and affect the fact that this is largely a social thing we've got going here. LETS NOT SPOIL IT.
If the 106 guy's genuinely interested in owning an Elise he'll come along to an event and have a shot as a passenger. If he likes it he might hang around, get to know us then have a drive of someone's car. If he's just here to start a wind up then the sooner we ignore him the better. He'll get bored and p!ss off.
If the message was genuine then I welcome the guy with open arms with the caveat that we don't take the p!ss out of people's road driving abilities. The tone of the message leads me to doubt this but if I'm wrong then I'll be first to own up and welcome the guy.
Right back to work...
Cheers,
Iain.

When Simon got that text yesterday afternoon on my driveway it was just too good an opportunity to miss.
And to be fair - I'm not entirly alone in this either - Mr tB and Mr A have to shoulder some of the blame.
And then there's Mr Shug for clocking my e-mail address and removing JJ's earlier comments which would have given then game away.
Good to see how many stuck up for your fellow eliser though.
Mac
