I though that was a bit suspect, but just played along

And I think this is the perfect place to post about the dangers of comedy trolling

I actually asked mac about this (as I saw it was him from the user login details) and he told me he wanted to wind up Gareth. I thought it'd be a laugh too - but here's what's happened:

A: Gareth bit, but didn't rise to it (well done sir)
B: It antagonised some members and created a bit of an unpleasant whiff of SELC*CK

So, methinks it would be wise to learn from this (me especially) and let it be known that, despite any comedy intentions, any trolling on here from now on will be exposed at the first opportunity....

Odd as it may seem but I;m a great believer of Robin's method of troll control.

Troll once - you get caught (and you will as everything resolves to IP's) you get a public telling off.

Troll twice and your shown the door.

Slightly different in this situation as it was being moderated (by myself with Shug/Simon as back up should I overstep the mark) but most trolls try to disguise themselves

You're learning though - a year ago you'd have posted up on here that you needed more power after getting humped by a 106....

Sorry if I injected any hint of SELC*CK, I still mod on CTRO which has regular trolling, over 21000 users they tend to get pounced on quite quickly.

In terms of comedy trolling you have a long way to go, CTRO forum currently has a 37 page long thread on trolling. At the moment they have various aliases on the B5 forum (B5 are a black american boyband, there forum users post mainly in txtspk an day talk in da gansta stylee) and on the ultra neo-nazi forum for a two blond blue eyed pop girls whose lyrics promote nazi propaganda.

They have just started posting links between the forums. :D

Something like:

"I can't think of anything constructive to say and I spend too long on SELC*CK, but I do agree with the previous statement"
Sorry, what do you mean ;)

Ha, it was pretty much bugger all to do with me!
It just happens that you sent me the text about it at the wrong time of day. An hour earlier and you'd have been fine
