Howdy folks !!!!

Picked up an S1 in Azure blue yesterday. Its a 1997 with 29k miles and got it at a good price.

Had an 05 Impreza WRX PPP but am in the process of changing jobs and the scoob costs far too much to run so it had to go. And the Elise is only marginally slower.

A few upgrades are in the pipeline for more power and better sound.

I'll be the first to say it - careful with the loud pedal on the greasy roads, I've never felt them as bad as they are at the mo.

Good first upgrades are a bit o driver training - you can be sooo much quicker than scoobs on track if you use the corners properly 8) Plus a well driven 120hp Elise will still eat a reasonably driven 200hp Elise.

Had the 'fun' conversation with my g/f recently too. We were going to a mates place in convoy at the end of a night out (myself, Andy and Elaine) in (respectively) a modified S1, a 111R and an Audi S3.

Both myself and Andy got sideways for a giggle on an on-ramp to the M8 (was 3 in the morning) and Elaine just clung on to the back of us with the throttle nailed.

She commented that we were all over the place while her loverly 4WD kept the power down and just railed her through the corner - our answer?

"Yeah, but who had the biggest grin!"

In the house.

Extra weight in the Elise :( , it'll just slow it down.

Good man!

Don't think you'll miss the Impreza, although a sound car, and a Shug mentioned, who wants 4 wd when sideways is clearly the way forward!! (or not)

Sorry - edited ewan's post instead of quoting from it.... See apology above.

Extinguisher has 2 options.

1 In front of the pax seat squab. Just under where Pax's knees would be.

2 Bulkhead to the RHS rear of the drivers seat. Don't drill it though - there's a fuel tank in there! Just attach extinguisher mount to a bit of ally plate, then use lots of large double sided sticky pads to attach ally plate to bulkhead. That'll spread the load and ensure it stays there.

Do S1's have the pax foot rest?

If so I've attached mine to that with tie straps.

Yes - mine is there. But it's not exactly to hand if you get a flash fire....
