LOOKING FORWARD TO MY FIRST DRIVE!

Hi All
Well I fly to London on Tuesday and collect my first Elise and drive home to Midlothian. Always been an owner of the classic MG's and Saabs however I've been putting my pennies in my piggy bank away from my wife and kids and I'm at last gonna have my own real toy!
Just came across this website tonight which is great so I'm sure you'll hear more from me once I've read in depth what your'e all about and do.
Wish me luck with my drive up from London. My Elise is an 01 Race Tech and Ice Blue so if anyone sees me give me a blast on your horn.

Welcome to the Elise family Murph, always good to see another owner bitten by the bug.
Have a good drive up, but if the roads are anything other than dry, take it easy to start with. Its a fantastic car, but does have a habit of biting back when you least expect it.
Hope to see you in June at the KH Classic Speedfair, if not before. Do you intend to track it.

Welcome along murph.
I reckon you'll be grinning from ear to ear driving home.
If you've only found this place you'll be surprised how friendly it is. There's always someone willing to help you out in your hour of need.
There's plenty of advice in the archives as well as some guff, but all good fun.
As tut said hope to see you up at knockhill to show off the loti.
If you want some idea of what these cars do on track, come up to knockhill (next weekend I think).
Grab a helmet and ask an loti owner for a pax ride.
Oh and take it easy - roads are slippy just now!

Murph enjoy your car and drive carefully. Dont worry you will get plenty of waves and flashing lights - thats what we do.
Stick some photos up when you get her and get along to some of the events that SE have.

Thank you all for the kind words.
I'll have my good lady with me so I'm sure she'll keep me right (as they always do)
I don't intend to 'track it' but I'm sure I'll come along to one or two of the great days out that I've read all you good people attend it's all sounds great fun.
Thank you for all the advice and as soon as I pick her up I'll let you know how the drive was. The daft feeling I have just now is I'm like the kid waiting for Santa to pull my present out of the sack! If you know what I mean.
Catch you all later

If you are feeling anything like I did, you are probably struggling to get to sleep at night at the moment (images of your elise seem to be ingrained on the inside of your eye-lids?)... I'm afraid that doesn't pass for quite some time after picking her up either....
Have a good drive up, and I'd just echo Tut's comments on taking it easy if the conditions are not great. If it is wet, don't be too alarmed if the standard traffic starts overtaking you... 'Bend like a tree in the wind'. Loads of time to work out how she goes once she is back up here.
Andy.
