hello im new

Hi folks,
Im new to this site. Thinking of starting my lotus life with an elise s1, know a fair bit about them and cant wait really.
theres one here with a bit of work needed:

I would personally stay clear of it. Its not that cheap for what it is. Its no MOT so god knows what else could be wrong with it. With elises in crashes I would always stay clear. It has also been on sale for the last 2 months without movement

Seems steep for an Elise with clam damage and no MOT - have seen them at that price tatty but legal. That said, values have firmed up.

Can I steer you here aswell I also had probably the same questions and doubts and queries as you have right now, so probably some good reading in there. I also have a wee sheet I made about buying an s1 Elise PM me your e-mail and I will send it your way

from another new member (just joined yesterday).
i'm also beginning the search for my first Elise... although i'm looking for an S2 (i prefer my cars to be newer due to my complete lack of mechanical knowledge).
keep us posted on your search, particularly if you find any good dealers.

trying to avoid dealers. no point in paying more...
if i can find out that looks like it has been well maintained i will be happy. might be easier during winter time as people put their toys in the garage/credit crunch.... lol

lol... yeah, waiting til after summer was my plan too... i'm going to see if a dealer can offer me soemthing tasty... otherwsie i'll be going private as well. just means i'll have the trouble of offloading my mx-5 though.
