Newbie from Fife - Dunc

Hi folks,
I'm looking at picking up an s1 as a more sensible track toy (currently use a radical) and reasonably cheap runabout when needed too. I'm attracted to the s1 as I'm not too bothered about straight line punch more a car that is enjoyable on track with sensible running costs, it'd be an early base model s1. What (if any) upgrades would this require to be suitable for some moderately heavy track work?
Don't want to ask to many stupid newbie questions so I'll have a look around etc before I bother you with any silly questions
Cheers,
Dunc.

Shooomer, looks like I've come to the right place then - how will I get on after the radical?
Silly questions for now are as above really, is an s1 suitable to go straight onto track, assuming good mechanical condition of course (and popping some decent brake fluid in).

Standard S1 can go straight onto the track without mods, but you'll soon be looking for upgrades, especially if you have had a radical.

Awww don't say that, I'm trying to kid myself that I wouldn't spend anything on it and be happy with it as it is

im sure that even after the mods, it will be cheaper to run than the radical.
does/ did the radical not break down alot?

With the exception of a wiring issue with the dash when I first got it (bad contact) it's not skipped a beat and is extremely cost effective on track as it so capable - doesn't overheat brakes so doesn't wear them, ditto tyres and ditto again for engine. And fuel ecomomy is unbeatable, it's been the perfect track car but fancy a change (and a car I can use on the road too).
It's a different animal to an elise though, its a track car only whereas an elise can be used any place/anywhere - I hope

Was it you that Mass and I were speaking to at the Dreadnought night, or another radical owner?
