So here is some pre-warning about me spamming the techincal forum with a multitude of silly questions over the next few months.

The Car, an S1 that is probably known by a few members..I mean its not like half the people on here have ragged it round Knockhill at some point.

would put it in spotted but haven't a clue where I was.

Photo taken on my test drive on 060708...only think that has changed to date is the map book has been replaced with a K-Series Manual.

Your a braver man than me!! I was going to take mine to work today so I could go straight up to Knockhill after to watch the action (I work in Dunfermline) but the rain was immense, still is!!! The roads on the way over were more like rivers in places so I'm glad I took my trusty old borat...

Yup, it is Ali\Stu's shed. It needs a bit of work as Mac said...but should come good.

Mark, I deliberately took it out last night, to try and get a feel for it in the wet, its my daily driver so I am going to have to drive it in all weathers. It was outstanding, slowly building up my confidence, and only got a slight "twitch" at the end of the M73 joining the A80, standing water on a reasonably tight left hander...the steering feels so tight though, so much feedback through the wheel, far more than my 7.

I commented after 060708, I've never driven a car that feels so "natural" to drive, I always take quite a while to get used to driving a new car...(least a couple of laps of Kames, eh john. ), but with the Elise it just fell into place instantly.
My 7 still scares the crap out of me and seems to have a unpredicatable behaviour at times. The Elise just seems to do exactly what I ask it to.

I'd always thought the 7 would have been like feedback city in comparison!

They ain't so bad for daily driving (I've been using mine for a couple of months now as it's my only car) though last night was pretty horrible. I had twitchiness at about 45mph in the outside line, and there must have been a huge puddle on the other side of the carriageway as suddenly a huge wave was dumped on my windscreen/soft top.

Basically, I couldn't see a thing other than the truck I was aqua-planing towards, and I was suddenly rather wet in the face / right hand arm and leg- my soft top leaks a little, or a lot when a HUGE wave hits the car

As for parking... Elemental shower capes are my friend.

I think there must be something wrong with your 7. The steering should give you loads of feedback.

* On road, I've found the steering feedback on my Elise is more communicative than the Tomato. They just talk in different ways, and when I'm not wringing its neck on-track the Tomato has less feel - taller tyre sidewalls, less-stiff chassis, etc all contributors probably. On-track's a different story - the Tomato talks like a racing commentator in the final furlong then! Nothing wrong with its steering, just 'different'
