Well another newbie checking in here. Currently based in Edinburgh and looking to buy either a VX or Elise.
If i ever find the one i want, you can look forward to lots of inane questions (not mechanically minded in the slightest) and.............well that is probably about it.

BTW anyone here own the yellow elise i always see around Edinburgh business park?

It's in the classifieds.

Hello! :welcome

Get one you won't regret it!

If you can check out the meets section and come along, or even better get yourself to Lawrence's this week end for a bit of "spanners and sponges" action.

We are a friendly bunch with a tendancy for mild eccenticity and bouts of high speed loonacy :thumbsup

Hello,

If you are free on Thu you should come up to Knockhill as there will be VX's and loti of all descriptions up there.

Gordons car does look a cracker.......however if you are interested in taking the brave step into VX ownership (stop laughing at the back) get registered on http://www.vx220.org.uk.

There are a few VX's in Scotland now, pm / email me if you want a shot / advice / passenger lap round round KH where i spin and wipe out some cones 8)
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

yep, have seen gordons, but ideally i really need a few less miles and modifications.

Also seen the s135 which i think the other half is quite keen on; although the lack of radio may prove a stumbling block.

Seems to be quite a lot of choice at the moment and there are a few down South which are holding my interest.

No cones now apparently, they were gone when I did my hy-performance day last week. Plenty of over the kerb action (Eventually )

Assume it is during the day on Thursday? Doubt if work will let me out to go and look at hairdressers cars (faily clueless in the office).

I actually prefer the VX, but gf seems more inclined towards elise ownership.

I know I sound like a salesman, but there are no mods on Gordon's that you would not do in 5 minutes. The engine is untouched - it's totally standard, apart from careful attention to detail (and a pile of luck) that gave him that brilliant power figure.

The S2 suspension is just ideal - you'd be mad to want the standard Koni's and I'm sure Gordon will set the geo to standard before selling.

I'm not on commission, I really do think it's a great car. I also know what Gordon's selling it for and it would be great if it all came off for him :thumbsup

I agree with Shugster on this one, having just bought Mandy an S1 on standard dampers.

Within a few days/weeks you'll be on here asking how to get rid of the koni's

Appreciate what you are all saying, and yes, by the sound of it, it does sound a great example.

But ideally, out of all the elise variants, i would prefer a 111s or s135 with lowish mileage.

Hard to explain, but seeing as it is going to be tying up all my cash, it really needs to be something a little special.

Lee's 135 is nice, but I know where I'd put my cash

Fair enough mate - sorry if it seemed like you were being leapt on as soon as you joined! It's a bloody mystery to everyone on here why G hasn't sold his car yet and it seems the perfect car for a new owner.

Have fun, whatever you get!
