Hi everyone,
Been thinking about an elise for some time now and i am finally in the position where i can afford to buy one. Will hopefully be looking at buying one in next couple months. I was hoping that i would be able to get some pointers on here for what to look for when buying an elise. I am looking at buying a 111s probably around an 04-05 plate and will possibly be considering a 111r though dont know if i can stretch that far to buy one. Any advice welcome.
thanks, Kevin.

Hi Kevin - this is a great thread to get started with:
http://www.scottishelises.com/phpbb/vie ... =4&t=14834
Beware, only start to read if you can cordon off half an hour. Scott arrived looking for info and had an elise 6 weeks later or so. But lots of useful stuff in the middle of the drivel on there.
If it's not been answered there, then ask away!
Also, for models & general info
http://www.elises.co.uk has a list of all the models and the specs - very useful when you're comparing cars.

to the nuthouse.

Plus, don't discount the 111R on price just yet - it's a buyers market and things don't look like getting much better soon. My g/f has one and it's an excellent car - worth the premium over a Rover engined one (111S) IMO.

Know the area well many a time I have been chased through the place bottles lobbed at my head, had knives pulled etc. I am a Hurlford boy it's not all to do with my personality.
They must all have been nice as mine wasn't there

Cheap 111R here if you are feeling brave :

111S is great value for money but I wouldn't discount an Elise S either. All depends how you will be using the car...daily driver, weekend toy, trackday car etc

Ha, BiggestNizzy sounds like a regular night when i try to walk down the pub. Neil72 i wouldn't fancy that with 80000 miles on it, be looking for one with a quarter of that mileage. I work offshore so the car would be used for whenever i need it when im back onshore and for a bit of fun and a couple track days here and there.

Hi Kevin
I was in the same position as you . I started looking for a R reg S1 and ended with a 04 111R . Its def a buyers market ive seen similar cars to mine advertised for £1000s more than i paid . A 04 05 low miles £16 to £19 dont rush in i looked for months and the 111R does not dissapoint. Ian
