Another boring newbie post!...

Hello all,

My name is Donna and ive been registered on here for a while now but never posted. I live in Falkirk.

Ive recently sold my Honda and bought a puddle jumper as i can now walk to work. A puddle jumper is not my cup of tea though so im going to do my bit for the Ozone layer and get a real car again :thumbsup

The choice was a S2000 or an Elise. Im 99% sure i want an Elise more but ive never driven either yet.

Ive done a few gift experience track days and would like my next car to be a decent track car and road car so the Elise really fits the bill.

Ive pm'd Ed on here a few times and he was a great help :thumbsup thanks Ed.

My budget is up to £10,000 so an early S2 is possible now looking at autotrader but i really like thee look of the S1's and would prefer to have the left over cash for servicing and maintenance really.

Im looking forward to the trackdays and events starting up again so i can come and spectate which should hopefully help confirm i really need an Elise in my life and im looking to purchase one in the next few months.

Im trying to find out as much as i can about them before i buy so appreciate any advice you may have :thumbsup

Im sure ive bored you enough with this long post full of drivel :tired

Looking forward to meeting some of you in the near future :cheers

Donna

:welcome Budgets are just a guide  If you can stretch there is a 04 S2 111s in the classifieds . I would buy it if I did not have one already :D I bought mine without driving one before and was not disappointed . Best advice I was ever given was "just buy one ". There are loads out there , many that have been crashed  so a known car or competent inspection a must . Happy hunting .

Guarantee it'll be the best thing you buy (as long as it hasn't been thrashed or crashed).

Good time to be in the market too- quite a few bargains around. If you get yourself along to a meet or trackday there'll be plenty of people happy to offer advice or a pax ride- a friendly bunch here!

Thanks for all the welcomes :cheers

Also pax rides sounds brilliant, ive actually spectated at a trackday you were all at a few years ago as my other half wanted to go up and see someones Atom on the track but i dont think it was there that day, he had ordered one too, cant remember the mans name now though.

Thanks for the guides to the buyers guide etc :thumbsup

And thanks for the offer of a run in your S2, hopefully i can take you up on it soon :cheers

Im just worried whenever i sit in one i will be out the same night buying one  , im easliy led :P

At the moment i just cant decide on buying a S1 and keep some spare money since its only a weekend car for me or go for the S2  , i love the rear of the S1 but like the front of the S2

The one in classifieds is nice but being female im always led by colour so ideally im looking at chrome orange, yellow or blue (Azure i think it is)

Has anyone bought a particular model and wished they had bought another?

Thanks again for the welcomes

Donna

:welcome There are quite a few of us in the Falkirk area, I'm sure some of the local Elise owners will be happy to show off their cars! Oh, and chrome orange is definitely the colour to go for, though I think they're few and far between (although I did see an orange S1 in Grangemouth recently...)

Hi Donna, :welcome I'm another resident of Falkirk. I have a red Exige which you will see around and about. I'm normally a regular at Knockhill track days so when the season starts feel fee to ask for a PAX. As the other locals have offered you're welcome to a run on the road to see how the various cars compare.

You can't go wrong with S1 or S2 so better to buy sooner than later :thumbsup

You'll find a list of models here just to confuse you more (plenty more info on the site too)
