Hello and thank you!

Post by J-Man » Fri Aug 21, 2009 9:56 am

Hello All,

I thought I should raise my head above the parapet and thank you for being here and offering a refreshing and realistic, though sometimes misty and damp alternative to PH, SELOC, LT etc.

I love being able to do many of the things described here, and admire the strength of purpose and level of commitment that many of you have.
I have a fascination of machinery and engineering, and the exhilaration of speed, but do not know where I should allow this to take me. Thank you for all of your entertaining and honest postings, which have allowed me to visit some of these places without risk, and thanks for all of the direct and humorous discussion on the fringes.

I bought my first Elise just over 3 years ago, and have not looked back! This Canyon Red 111R has now found a home in the NE, and if the new owner gets half the fun that I did out of her then he’s on to a winner! Thinking of you wherever you are!

I made two mistakes in the Spring - the combination of a couple of days at KH, and the opportunity to drive an SC were my downfall!
Anyway, now the proud owner of a lovely car that continues to surpass my expectations. As ever, you always seem to swap one set of niggles for another! I have plenty of questions, but have already found many answers here and elsewhere.
Hope it’s good driving weather this weekend, and I’ll give you a wave if I see you out and about!

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Good to see that you have discovered Scottish_Elises, and also your opinion and the help that you have received from the postings.

However you did not say what the new car was, another Elise hopefully?

I am not sure if it was you or not but I have seen a JC 25 around Pitscottie a couple of times earlier this "summer". Great looking car and must just be about the optimum S2 elise.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

New to this BB m'larky and last 2 efforts have gone uposted, which seems a little rude given the number of welcomes!

Can confirm identity on new car as a Type 25, from MMC. In the 111R you could refine your gear changes to get some very nice 2nd cam action, without going mental. The SC is much less involving until you glance at the speedo. But then you drop a gear...

But it doesn't make the noise I want! Anyone with an SC and 2bular? And how would this be for KH or a Walshie? Got to keep options open!
