Hi everyone! I'm a friend of Doms and am really keen to get into trackdays. Does anyone have any advice on who to go to for helmets and tyres??

Cheers,

What car do you have? I am using Toyo R888 tyres, prefer them to the AO 48s although the price has gone up considerably in the last year.

Cheers, at the moment I have an Mx-5 1.8s (the lsd one :D ) and will hopefully get an elise next year when I have more pennies. I thought it would be more manageable to build up my confidence first anyway.

If you have decent tread on your tyres don't worry too much.

My girlfriend did a track day with us Lotus guys / some Scoob etc in her old Mk1 mx5 1.8is on some generic Toyos (CF-1?) and it wasn't too bad so long as you keep an eye on the mirror. I'm not recommending them as the tyre to use (best check mx5 Scotland for that kinda advice) more pointing out that you wouldn't be the first etc.
You might well leave the day feeling that you want something quicker mind, Erica now has a VX220...

I can bring you a spare helmet down if you're stuck...
