Hello from ANOTHER Aberdeen nearly Lotus owner

Post by CubanGav » Mon Jul 05, 2010 6:40 pm

Hi - just registered but I have been lurking for quite a while now. I am soon to be getting a Lotus all of my own and am currently searching and enjoying day dreaming about cars I cant afford.....
I've met a few people from here and made it down to a track day at Knockhill. The passenger rides sold me on the idea of getting in on the fun (Alan and Chris you are gents). Sooooooo much fun. Also met Colin who pined after his 340R right up to the point it rained on Sunday at Alford. Class.
Now my budget doesn't stretch to Exiges and the like but I had been swithering about an S1 or an S2. S1 I feel is easier on the eyes but after speaking to some owners and a heap of tinternet searches it'll be an S2 as it will be the only car and used all year. I am currently running an Impreza which is nice but it was something I had to get out of my system. I'm heading down to Edingburgh on Saturday to look at a couple and see what I'd get for a trade in. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this one?

I think I remember it being up here a while back but wasn't in the position to do anything about it then. Is this anyone's old car? Does anyone know it?

Cheers.

(A very excited) Gav.

:welcome and good luck with your search. Don't know anything about the car in the link you posted but you should have a look into Murray Motors and have a chat with Graeme to see what he has in stock when you are down. It's a good chance to see the great range to set your sights on for the future too. :thumbsup

:welcome I made the move from a Type R Impreza to a Lotus exactly a year ago now and its the best move Ive ever made. Couldn't honestly see me driving anything other than a Lotus now.
The Exige has cost a few quid for servicing and a new set of tyres but twice the mpg make up for it.

No knowledge of that car or whether the price is good or bad.... but I really do like the JPS edition elise / exiges.

Hey Gav.

I was in a MMC today picking up a part and Graeme has some really nice S2's in (and one lovely Type 72 Exige) Luckly he had someone in or I would have been in The Chair of Debt

Hope you get one you like!

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Hey Gav, welcome :)

There was an early silver S2 in murrays when I was done last week. Looked in great condition.

All the best with the search. ( Oh and that type 72 has been for sale for a while so maybe some haggling room there, but I bought mine a couple months ago and at that time it was competativly priced ;))

Cheers folks. I have to say I'm drooling over the Type 72 buuuuuuuuuut it is probably 2 grand over what I'd want to pay for it.
Does Murrays have more in stock other than whats on the web?
Knowing me I'd get power hungry fairly quick with the type 72 so a 111s could be the way to go. Hehe.
