Go have a look at Kayfurs 135r .
It is definatly not to harsh for the road in fact Kayfurs has NItrons fitted which although stiffer sprung than tha standard 135r it was less harsh and absorbed bumps better than the standard LSS. I also had a 135r and therefore was able to compare directly with Kevs , plus he has just cleaned it up nicely.
Its on pistonheads (and I think he has put on pictures)

Probably only get into 6th at the Ring or Spa in the dry, but do use it at KH when it is standing water. I was in 5th when the back end let go on the straight, next time round it was 6th.

I've been in Kev's (Kayfur) 135R a number of times. It's a real gem. Go and have a look. You'll not regret it.

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Just bought a 111s 4 weeks ago. Loving it and it is really useable and comfortable and as normalish but awesome car.
As mentioned by others and highlighted doing Dukes Pass a few times the other week with a bunch of Scottish Elises guys you do notice the the 2nd to 3rd gearing as i hit a load of corners fairly high up the rev range in 2nd gear with not much revs left but 3rd gear felt a bit high and long although it still pulled well enough in 3rd gear, just didn't feel quite right.
A bit lower gearing would be nice in my opinion so guess the 135 give you that but do think the 156bhp VVC K-series is nice and really smooth as long as has got a sports exhaust to make it sound better !

can only speak for the 111s :thumbsup - never driven a 135R.

I like the way the VVC revs. a willing little engine as long as it's looked after and just about the right amount of power to weight to be fun. (just ignore straight line heros). I use it regularly during the summer for a 25 mile commute and alway find myself taking the long way home.

I did tire of the understeer after a while and felt it could just be a bit sharper so changed from 175's to 195's at the front plus went for Hofmann Nitrons with stiffer springs, the damping is really good on them so it doesn't feel too hard. (changing to nirtons isn't necessary but my standard units were tired i thought i'd take the opportunity to enhance things.)

i would think either variant would be a good starter, try them both and see which suits you more.

After last weekend, I am IN LOVE with the 135R, had an awesome weekend of driving, and having not properly driven anything decent for a good few years, last weekend was my first proper blast, I have never driven a car so hard and fast and thoroughly enjoyed it! Grip like nothing on earth, which my pax will testify too, as we took bends through the sma glen that even i exited amazed!

 so chuffed!
