Lotus Newbie in at the deep end!

Hello everyone

I’m a self employed mechanic and have a garage in East Kilbride. I deal with alot of performance cars and anything modified! I have just broken and sold my track project at the beginning of this year. I had a honda civic 1995 eg hatch with a supercharged k20, i built the car from the ground up and decided the engine and charger would be better suited in an elise/exige. I have just bought a 2002 s2 Elise and pulled the engine out of it and am in the process of doing the k swap. I have all parts and im just learning my way about the car! To make things more interesting ive got a hold of every panel from an s2 exige and im doing the full conversion while the car is off the road.I figured here would be a good place to learn a little and speak to some real enthusiasts. Ive heard good things from other lotus owners about this forum and look forward to meeting everyone.

Cheers

Andrew

Sounds like a nice project, would be good to have someone over this side with a garage to take cars to

I've done a few now and glad to help if needed. :thumbsup

I converted my own car (now sold), which was an S1 Elise and recently a 340R owned by a mad, poor sighted plumber. The 340R was a bit of a special one with a few extra taking it to 250 bhp (ish). Both build are on here somewhere.

I used a Kpro on both, do the DTA's have the ability to change the cam angle throughout the rev range?, the ones i looked at didn't. A feature you don't really want loose.

All the best
Alan

Im running DTA s60 and it does have the ability to change the cam angle throughout the rev range. Henry Roy does all my mapping and i have found the dta to be very good.I had considered the kpro initialy but fancied trying something different and had heard dta was a good system. I ran the engine NA forged for around 5thousand miles before charging it and have covered another 3 since being charged and have had no issue so far!
