People carriers?! Large dark overcoats?!!

Yes, it's me - Finally got around to joining SE2 after 7 years of being an SE1 dinosaur...

Suppose I'd better introduce myself to the many on here who aren't users of the newsgroup...

I got involved with the Scottish Elise mob back in October 1999 - Back then I had an Elan SE (i.e. this one)

Despite everybody's best efforts, I resisted the sensible idea of buying an Elise, and sunk my dosh into 300+bhp of mad boy racer Subaru (Impreza STi Type R) which I had no idea how to drive properly, and proceeded to scare myself and my passengers senseless...

Common sense finally kicked in after attending Stelvio 2001, and I got my hands on an S2 ST in late 2002

Cue several track days / 'ring trips (been a fairly regular attendee since 2000) etc etc

Decided to go racing in 2004, and after considering Legends / XR2's, ended up electing to enter the inaugural Scottish Caterham Academy...Flogged the Elise, and got my hands on several boxes of bits which became a Caterham... :D

Did the season, and also took part in a couple of rounds of the national Super Grads - Final race being at the Caterham Festival at Brands Hatch in 2004...Entered the 2005 Super Grads Championship, had the car prepped & setup...Then flogged it last June...(Time & budget constraints...The usual!)

Not driven in anger since, apart from a trip to the 'ring last September when Robin very kindly lent me the use of his S2 Exige (aka Tango Badger)...

Still lurking from time to time, but don't have much to input given my Elise days ended in late 2003... :(

...but bear with me...The background is complicated & dull, but hopefully I'll be back on track in something more appropriate next Spring / Summer... :D

Cheers,

Ross.

Cheers guys... :D

Held off joining the list for a while, due to my obvious lack of an Elise these days...but figured what the hell...

Hopefully be getting a trackday toy of some sort next Spring / Summer, so looking forward to catching up with the KH regulars then...

(It's been soooo long since I last drove there/on any track, I'll have to go out in the novice session!!)

In the meantime I'm off to buy a Daewoo Matiz / Ford Ka next week...( !)

Cheers,

Ross.
