Hello,

Just stumbled upon this site while on the hunt for an s1.

I'm a private buyer looking for an S1 as a winter project to get back into lotus ownership, i dont mind condition or mileage as long as the price is right.

Happy to look at cars that need some work or are mint.

Please get in touch if you have or know of a suitable car.

I have funds available, I'm ready to buy now and will travel anywhere in the uk.

thanks,

Steve.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Still no luck in finding a decent car - aren't there any Elises for sale in Scotland ???

S1 s are like hens teeth and it looks like the days of cheap ones are long gone. sure something will come up though.

You may well need to look south of the border to open up your options :thumbsup

Hi Steve

Fegus mentioned in this POST that he was looking to sell his S1 in the coming months. This is a known car owned by an enthusiast from new. You can rest assured that this car will have been very well maintained.

As you have probably read elsewhere - a £7k elise is just a £9k elise needing £2k spent on it to refresh the worn parts!

Best of luck with your search :thumbsup

I'm actually from Dunblane too.

and yes I did get it and i drove it all the way up from southampton stopping only for 10mins on the way to fill up - 6 1/4 hrs journey time, earplugs were a godsend.

here are a few pics ..........

It looks pretty standard from the outside with the exception of the Victory alloys, but its had a fair amount of engine work done early in its life to include new head, cams, exhaust etc. - the result is a claimed 164 bhp

Its also got S2 suspension, MMC discs and alcantara interior.

Its only done 50k miles with FSH and the body work is very good (and very bright !!), engine runs great and pulls strong, only thing is the alcantara interior has faded a little so that needs re-dyeing black again.

Ive taken off the headlight covers already as they were letting in water and will refit when I get a chance.

I could do with a pair of seats in black with a bit more padding !! if anybody has a pair spare ?? The ones I have are in good nick if anybody wants them.

The car wasnt advertised, I found it through a wanted ad i posted. The guy had half a dozen different cars and bought the elise 3 years ago, but never used it.

I had an esprit over 10 years ago and its good to get back behind the wheel of a lotus. Ive driven elises in the past before but i'd forgotten how amazing the steering feedback is and I'm suprised how solid the car feels, its like its machined from a solid billet, no scuttle shake or flex at all, quite amazing.

thanks,
