Introducing me

Post by young_bairn » Mon Dec 09, 2013 1:14 am

Posted in seloc but directed here.

Hi everybody.

Been reading the site the last few days. Lots of great info. Pretty much bought a 111r in yellow. 20000 miles on the clock and great condition for the age (05 plate). Had a drive and loved it. Took it easy though and intend to do so for the winter.

Was just wondering if anybody knows the car?

Guy selling seems honest. Just a bit of a worrier. There is still finance on the car but he is taking out a bridging loan before selling.

My car history is hot hatches so completely different road for me. Always loved enthusiast cars being a former Rs owners club member. Just married so getting a toy in the garage while I can.

Cheers
Graham

Car history is as follows

Citroen ZX first car dont laugh :)
Focus St 170
Focus Rs mk2
A3 3.2 sport

Th focus Rs was an amazing everyday car. Sold to fund house move, wedding etc.

St170 was a well put together car. Some people said they lack power but it was enough for me at 20 year old

A3 was pretty boring. Didnt have it long. Sounded nice which was it's only redeeming feature.

Been looking for a lotus for the past 3 months to fit a budget. Viewed a silver 111r local to me but it was a right dog. Then Test drove a 370z as well but felt it was numb. Didnt feel like a sports car.

Welcome!

Glad to hear you'll be taking it easy ... these cars need some respect, otherwise you end up in the crash barriers facing the wrong way looking like a total muppet (been there, done that :-)).

Cheers,
Robin

Hi

The bridging loan sounds a bit strange..........Don't pay the asking price
Ask for the settlement figure and pay that directly to his lender............only then pay the remainder to the "worried seller"

Enjoy your new car

A nice wee selection. I am quite a hot hatch fan too. Makes a good compliment to an elise on the fleet. 8)

As others have mentioned, the elise is a lot less forgiving than at hot hatch in the current weather conditions. I have had / been around lotuses for years, and still get a wee wake up call from time to time at this time of year.

The 111r should give you plenty of driver involvement, and fun. Enjoy! :thumbsup

Thats great. Iv looked at the service book and it all checks out since you owned it. Great to hear it's a known car. Current owner bought it last December. You kept it in good condition!

Sorry im the slightly worried one. He is taking a out a personal loan to clear his remaining finance. I did think about paying off his finance and wasnt sure of the legality of it. Anyway he seems a genuine young lad so have no real fears. Cant wait to drive her home :)
