After 4 1/2 years of ownership of my s2 135sport (daily driver). I did my first track day today at Kames hosted by the vx220 guys. My car is brilliant but I have just found out today how brilliant

I have met a few folk on here but would like to thank Lewis for extending the invite and Dom for a pax lap that opened my eyes to my complete lack of sideways competence but I am now a keen student! Interestingly, I was steadily falling into the trap of wishing for more HP....

red mist etc etc but actually I just need to practice. Totally up for a few track days with like minded folk. Cheers Stewart

Amazing what wee plastic cars can do in the right hands, you won't go far wrong with Dom showing you the ropes

The dark grey long tail roof car? I rocked up in the blue focus. Glad you enjoyed it.

Ah, I suppose you mean a video of Geoff who was driving my car very badly. I am promised a video of MY one 30 seconds of driving glory (to follow....i will be so dissapointed if its a bit rubbish) but I suspect there is quite a lot of video of some guy who kind of looks like me and really cannot drive for toffee, we agreed to call him Geoff. He seemed to be driving my car a bit more often than me - a Kind of the Mr. McGoo of Scottish Elises.......i do feel however, that he shows some promise...

The best bit about Kaimes is that you have to count the laps and remember which way you're supposed to be going
Welcome aboard!

Timed over three laps in the Scottish Sprint Championships, but I managed four a couple of times, difficult to keep score when you are going that fast.

Is was great to meet you! Glad you enjoyed the pax.
Now that you are a member of EACC you can go down to their test nights (same format as yesterday AFAIK). Held once a month. I am planning on going down to them.

Yes, I do have significant difficulty in counting to 3. It is apparently somewhere between 2 and 5.... and test nights sound good, I'm not too far away, home in Mearns and work in Kilmarnock.

Used to stay in Mearns, now in Stewarton, only ever seen a silver/grey and red s2 kicking about.

Next to the war memorial, so must just be down the road from where you used to live

I wonder how many folk are out there keeping an eye on this forum who are a bit apprehensive about an occasional track day. At kames there was only one car on track at any one time. So it was a great introduction for me to doing this kind of thing. I wonder if there would be enough novices on here who would be interested in taking their cars to kames perhaps once every couple of months on a Saturday. Not checked this out in more detail yet but if eacc do £400 for a Saturday divided by approx 10 folk.... I would be right up for that???? Anyway if u want to see a novice video... Here it is (if it does not link, sorry I'm a bit techno rubbish....
