Hi Folks, recently bought my 1st Elise on Ebay - a Titanium S1 - and drove it back from Manchester. What a day!

A friendly Exige driver flew out of nowhere near Carlisle and guided me to the A702 exit. Never driven anything so much fun nor had the acknowledgement waves and flashes before!!
On a sad note, I put all the rattles and bumps on the way home down to the design of the car however, there were a few things needing done (cat collapse and steering rack)

. They're done now though, thanks to Falkand in Glenrothes, and the car is even better than I thought albeit my Ebay bargain has now now turned out to be reasonably priced

Keeping it garaged for weekends and occassional week nights when the withdrawal symptons kick in. Have been reading the site for a couple of weeks and enjoyed the banter. I may go for the KH training, as it's now scared me twice in the wet
PS saw a white Exige

today leaving Elie - anyone on here? Also, another Titanium S1 in Dunfermline about 4.30pm? (Oh, and a silver S1 one yesterday about 3pm near Queen Margaret??)

Hi Jon - if you don't mind me asking... what did you pay for it? I've been looking for an S1 for some time now...

Hi, Paid £7.7K for a 97, FSH, cambelt change last year, 42k miles, private plate and other recent work done. Seemed like a decent bargain to me at the time but I'd only been reading about them / looking for a month or so. Was I diddled

Thanks and hello

I will sleep easier tonight and will be sure to tell the missus I was not diddled. The steering rack was reconditioned and a de cat fitted via Elise Parts which made it cheaper so at least the bill was not as extorionate as it could've been. The other brucey bonus was that it was only the cat mounting that had collapsed so the oringinal cat will still do for MOT purposes
