New Elise in Aberdeen

Post by twinrotor2 » Thu Oct 09, 2014 7:29 pm

I have been looking for a Lotus for a while after being at a few legs meets this year with a mate who bought an Elise.
My first Lotus was an Elan of 1969 vintage back in 1972, I now have a Elise Club Racer and will be attending as many events that I can make.
I am a keen photographer and some on this forum and other Lotus sites may have seen some of my pictures on Flickr from some of the events this year.

Tut

The twinrotor2 goes back to the days when I flew model RC helicopters and I had a scale Boeing Vertol KV107 that flew well until the front rotor blades and rear rotor blades found one another due to slipage on the timing belt between the two rotor shafts and as you would know helicopters need blades to stay in the air.

I never flew the Chinook Jim, rather take my chance with Sam 7 missiles than rotor blades that overlap. At some stage they are going to mate.

My wife was a Cabin Attendant with BIH on the Chinooks in the 80's. She should have been on the one that went down in November '86 killing 45, but it was delayed on take off with an oil leak and she swapped flights with a friend to take the later one. They were by far the best transport helicopter in the North Sea with their speed, capacity, and endurance, but they never flew again.
