Exige S240 on the way!

Hi all

Ross here... After years of buying cars with my head I finally shunned a new B8 RS4 for a 58 Exige S. Just got the call to say deal done so as of the 28th barring any unforeseen problems I'll have my desktop wall paper car parked on the drive!

Had some decent motors in my time Prodrive Impreza Sti back when they were good! Mini Cooper S, BMW Z4, 335d and most recently a 61 plate 335i which is getting chopped in for the Exige. Absolutely cannot wait. Keen to explore track days and some tuition to get the best of it!

You're going to love the whine :-) On an unrestricted private road I once maxed out my 240 - OK, there are faster cars and no doubt the speedo over reads, but just hearing the whine of the super charger makes the whole thing seem so much faster ...

It's not yellow with a stripe is it?

Cheers,
Robin

Welcome to S_E Ross, sounds like you are an enthusiast so looking at your past cars you must have put a bit of thought into it.

Where did you buy from? Lots of members on here with the same model so bang up some pics.

Its been on the hit list for a long time... as had the RS4, having now driven one I thought it was just faster firmer version of the 335 with less steering feel. didn't think i was getting much more than what i had, it didn't sparkle as a drivers car.... i drove an exige and was just blown away by how good the suspension and steering was and that snookered the RS4 immediately. A quick and easy negotiation with my other half on the use of her A1 sealed it! Thought long and hard about the v6 but ultimately the residuals on the PCP were poor and it was just too much on the monthly for a weekend toy and coupled with the fact I wouldn't own it at the end i decided to go for a low mileage Exige S2 on HP. Its completely standard bar Race Harness's and TRD Airbox. I'll probably put an exhaust on it depending on how loud it is.

Would have liked to join in the meet on the 1st but alas I have the inlaw and friends over for the weekend. Had my eye on 3 or 4 across the market got it from Lotus in leeds, they've been great and totally happy with distance sale and my conditions/questions.

Nice one. Nearly sold mine a few months back for a V8 M3 but saw sense at the last minute. Now overhauling the brakes and waiting for the finer weather. SIDC track day at KH on 28 March. Details in Track days. 8-)

Alan, we're in Brightons, I think my other half saw you on Wednesday said she saw a lotus same colour as the one I was thinking of near BennyT's.

The M3 was on the list just couldn't find a good one eventually gave up... they were all knackered. I tried an M4 also, it was just a mad array of electronics keeping you on the road. Artificial raw, didn't like it.

Got the same model as you. Occasionally through that way as sister in law lives in Brightons.

Welcome, Ross.

You weren't in Murray Lotus last Saturday morning, by any chance, were you?!

I had a shottie of Robin's Exige mentioned above. It was bananas. With a stripe.

Sounds like a nice car Ross. I'll keep an eye out for you, I'm in Falkirk and have the little brother(or is it sister?) version of the Exige, supercharged Elise. :)
