Just had a look at the headers....covered in the remains of what looks like very old heat wrap? Take it Lotus didn't put any sort of wrap on them...Jon

Nope - and the lols that were had with that heat wrap.... :damnfunny Stank for weeks IIRC.

Would be massively surprised if a standard head went on and they kept all that stuff. You won a watch :thumbsup

The car is a proper eye opener....my old cosworth Westfield was a stunner, but by no way could it attack a corner like this one does...the term go-kart handling was written for these......finally a car that lives up to and beyond the hype. Ya right too...Rich could post for Brittan!! will try n track down the build thread. Jon

Rich sold his Elise in 2010 and bought the Wedge.

Lots of info here.

It would have had MMC disk brakes originally but looks as if they were changed for steel. Pity as they were part of the car's heritage, this is where Stelvio came from, and they are also half the weight, last forever as do the pads, I still have '96 spares in the garage.

Such nostalgia :-)

Rich helped with UJI (my S1) during spanner sessions at Lawrence's. Happy days.

O.K.........So the guy that sold me this car had no idea what Rich had done to her...he was a nice enough bloke, but didn't know what exhaust was on it.....or much about it as far as I can see. He'd had it advertised for a good while with no offers...so dropped the price £1300......and along came me!! Right time, right place I guess. Just been out for a blat in this crazzy sunshine. The power is intoxicating.......point, squirt....off ya go......Rich...he did a great job tell him!! Jon :D :D :D

Wow. glad it's still running well :D I do miss it :(
Did you buy it from a chap called Colin in Moffat?

I passed on the history but can give a run down from memory... probably.
Does it still have harnesses?

Hi Rich, good to see that you are still lurking, not so good that you stopped posting. Number 8 one behind Robin.

Do you still have the Wedge?

Indeed :D - still needs a wash though.

Had to get a real job which put a dent in the forum time. Dropped off Norlog too.

Need to get a bit of a grip and get some niggly bits fixed (like the suspect clutch/gearbox...) and back driving it properly but it is being used at least weekly as a commuter slag which raises a few eyebrows....

No, Rich got it from a guy called Angus in Killearn.....no harnesses but think I will fit one to drivers side. Real credit to your build skills I think. When I test drove her, I thought, fecc these are quicker than I thought for 118bhp...... Jon

Was pointed to your for sale post, so seen the spec. Don't think it has changed much, if any. Praps Colin forgot to pass on the mods list!!

Perhaps - I'll see if I can find his details, he might still have the history file (AKA large grubby pile of receipts)

Oh and it did have MMCs when I first picked her up but only on the front and after having a 'moment' coming off a wet motorway (front MMCs don't dry out as quick as rear iron) I swapped them for steels all around because I didn't know any better. If you can find a full set of MMCs then do it.
