They should be using PMS (No, not the girly thing) plastic media strip, on alloy components.

Haggis: I take it you used to sniff paint for a living then?

I used to take all my bits into the painters&dopers and bribe them with Stella, it's amazing what £8 of international fighting lager can get done! :D Their turn round time (If suitably bribed!) had got down to less than an hour on occasions! :D

Yes i am a ex painter & finisher. I also done plenty of jobs on the side, before i ended up with my own body repair centre. Ah these were the days of plenty of cash jobs.

Dropped my wheels of at IPF this afternoon. Cost is to be £35 per wheel. IPF don't do tyres but have an agreement with a bloke 2 doors down at a tenner a wheel.
I actually dropped the wheels of with Eck the tyre bloke (Tyres 4 U  ). He seems a top bloke and showed me a wheel that had just been done with a tyre mounted and nice new sticky wheel weights.
All being well, they should be ready for Monday.

Eck did say that I should really treat myself to nice new wheel centres and I think he is probably right. I seem to recall these can be a bit expensive and rare?

Also the rear tyres have loads of life in them yet (T1-R's) but I noticed that the driver's front one (T1-S) is pretty worn on the inside. I was kind of hoping to trash the rears first and then upgrade to something a little nicer. I think I'll just stick the worn tyre (still at least 2.5mm on the worn side) back on and try kill off the set this summer.

I'll let you all know what I think of the finish. I am away to trawl eBay for some centres.

Thanks all

Be careful on fleabay for the wheel centres - I'm sure I've seen some that were inkjet stickers.....

Cheers Shug. I had a look last night and there were none to be had. I'll probably just put up with mine meantime as they're not too bad.
