Hi everyone,
Well i've just finished fitting my new eliseparts discs and pads in the rain. All went well apart from the first disc retaining bolt being almost welded into the hub. I drilled it out enough to get the old disc off but i'm left with the remnants of the old bolt still in the hub. Tried drilling it out more, but my skills are obviously lacking
Has anybody else had this problem and could point me in the right direction please? I've drilled the core of the old bolt out, right into the hub bit it still wont budge... Other side was fine and has copious quantities of copaslip applied now

If the bolt isn't causing any probs, I think you can just leave it...the wheel keeps the disc on OK

Yes, provided the new disc has the same locating hole for the screw, you can leave the remnants of the screw in the hub no bother.

P.S. Impact drivers are your friend when it comes to these grub screws (not that this helps you now).

Grind it flush. Don't think mine even has a hole for one.

Shouldn't matter, without looking at it, it is difficult to gauge the best way of getting it out. If you really really want it out I could do it but you would have to remove it from the car and get it down to me I have the technology

but I can't do quick turnaround it would be a home job at work when a machine is free.

I have the remnants of 2 of my studs in my hubs.
As long as you line up the hole in the new disk with the stud hole, and the end of the stud is flush, or not affecting the mating face between the hub and disk, then it should not be a problem.

Sounds like you get some nice machines to play with

Ta for the offer but if it's not gonna be a problem, i'll just live with it. The disc is nicely flush to the hub and the brakes are stonking now
