Rear caliper to hub bolt....

Post by jj » Thu Jul 19, 2007 3:52 pm

Got the car up on stands this afternoon to do a few things (change flexi, replace pads) and when I got to the back the passenger side caliper bolt is missing

Anyone know the specs or where I could get one ASAP (or have one lying about?)

cheers,

JJ

The upper one is a M10x80, 17mm hex hd.
The lower one is a M8x60, 6mm (IIRC) cap hd.

I don't know what grade, though - might be worth removing the ones on the other side to look see - probably 8.8 but might be 10.9.

If either is missing, the caliper should swing fairly freely on the other ...

Cheers,
Robin

Robin,

I dont have the parts list on my laptop - would the grade be listed in that?

The one on the drivers side (and on all the others I have seen) is only threaded for half its length - I am not sure where I could buy one the same, apart from maybe MMC and I need it pretty urgently.

Take the one from the other side to the wee place I go to - can't remember the name - Thomas something - across from the Blantyre Vics. (just down from the IMO)

Blantyre place has a £5 minimum so I normally just bulk the order out with SS undertray bolts and washers - last time I got some with Allen heads - looks very cool on the S2, even better on an exige!

JJ, the large bolt is P/N B082W1113F, and the smaller one B082W1114F if you can't get them from elsewhere. MMC will send them over to the Glasgow showroom FOC within 24 hours.

Got a bit of a problem;

Both places mentioned above dont carry them, and MMC cant get one until next week - any plan C out there?

I am meant to be doing KH on Monday (really want to get up there) but if I cant source one of these fricking bolts I`m going nowhere

I can get some Cap head bolts from work, they will probably be 8.8's but to be honest I cant be sure I haven't examined the boxes in great detail they just come in as "high tensile"

I can grab a couple tommorow on the way to paintball if you like.

Thanks to nizzy for trying for me, but still not found anywhere with the 1.25pitch bolts. KH on Monday looking unlikely at this rate.....

You are welcome to remove said bolt from EGOR provided you return it on Tuesday ... I need the car on Wednesday morning but not before.

Cheers,
Robin
